I am a native north Floridian from a rural community in Live Oak. My family there owns and operates a multigenerational cattle and tobacco farm. Having grown up on a farm, animals have always been in my blood. In my youth I cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, pigs, cows, goats, horses and even wild fox and raccoons. Having grown up in such an animal rich environment it was only natural to dedicate my life to their care and well-being.
After graduation from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996, I spent 3 years in an exclusive dairy practice serving northern and central Florida. In 2000, I purchased Tomoka Pines Veterinary Hospital where I have been serving our clients, patients and community ever since. My special interests include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, ultrasound and radiology. I have been active locally in the Volusia County Veterinary Medical Association where I served as president for 3 years. I continue to attend state and national conferences to expand my knowledge in current medicine and surgery. I strive to focus on preventative care and senior pet wellness.
I have two wonderful children, both of whom love animals. Our animal family includes 2 dogs, 4 cats and 2 horses. I enjoy time with my children foremost. In addition I love the outdoors, including camping, hiking, fishing, archery and shooting sports. I love the Rocky Mountains, travel, cooking, wine, music and photography. When not at work, I may be hard to find!

I was born and raised on a farm in Ohio until I moved to Florida when I was 9 years old.  Animals have always been a part of my life. As a child I had and took care of many kinds of animals from horses, cows and pigs, to birds, lizards, snakes and tortoises. Even then, I found satisfaction in helping them get better when they were sick and injured.

After graduating from Seabreeze High School  I enlisted in the US Navy. I was stationed aboard the USS Gettysburg for 4 ½ of the 6 years I was enlisted. My undergraduate degree was obtained at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio . I graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and then completed my clinical year of rotation at Washington State University.

I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine including preventative care, surgery, emergency medicine, diagnostics and ultrasound. I am interested in learning more about acupuncture.

My girlfriend and I are currently renovating our home. We also enjoy Disney theme parks, running Disney races, exploring the outdoors, and the ocean. I recently started a saltwater aquarium and find this both relaxing and challenging. When we’re not out and about we love to be home with our 4 legged family which consists of 5 dogs and one cat.

I am originally from a small town in Connecticut and I knew by the age of 3 that I wanted to be a veterinarian. I attended the University of Connecticut before moving to the Midwest for veterinary school. I graduated from Iowa State University and first practiced in Ohio as an equine doctor.  Sick of the cold winters, I moved to Florida two years ago and practiced mixed animal medicine before joining the team at Tomoka Pines Veterinary Hospital.
I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially preventative medicine and geriatric pet care, imaging, and soft tissue surgery.
I like to travel and have been fortunate to perform veterinary work on wildlife preserves in South Africa, as well as help control the stray population in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. I hope to have the chance to help countries in need of veterinary care again in the future.
I am really enjoying living in Florida, as are my two dogs and three cats. When not at work I like to spend my time at the beach, theme parks, riding my bike on any of the local trails, kayaking, practicing yoga, and hiking with my two dogs.

Originally from Virginia, I am a graduate of the Veterinary Technology Program at Blue Ridge Community College. Animals have been my passion since I was a young child and I am so fortunate to be in a profession that I really love, and am continually growing and challenged in.  I have been with Tomoka Pines Veterinary Hospital since 1981. There have been a lot of changes in medicine and technology since then, and Tomoka Pines has continued to grow and improve with the times. Over the years I've been fortunate to gain many lasting friendships with coworkers, clients and their companion animals.
My animal family includes one dog, one cat and fish.  When not at work I enjoy spending time with my family, my church and at the beach

I was 5 years old when I got my first pet, a big tabby cat named Sampson.  It was my mission to always try to "fix" him, wrapping him up in an Ace bandage and giving him some pretend medicine,  I always wanted to make sure he would stay healthy and happy.  It was only natural I was drawn to veterinary medicine and when I began my career as a veterinary technician in 1996 making it my new mission to ensure everyone's pets were healthy and happy.
I have also bred and raised Ragdoll cats since 2000, most weekends you can find me at a cat show having fun with my show cats.
I am very proud to be part of the team here at Tomoka Pines and look forward to helping your pets to be healthy and happy!

I was born and raised in Watertown, CT. As far back as I can remember I have had a passion for animals. After working 10 years as a buyer and display manger at Howland- Hughes department store, I turned my sights to my true passion... animals! I began my career at a large 7 Doctor practice in Cheshire, CT in 1988 and the rest is history. I moved to Florida in 2010, living in the Ft. Lauderdale area until relocating to Port Orange in 2015 with my two Min. Pins, Kipp and Kiwi. I'm so excited to be a part of the Tomoka Pines Team.
