Kelly Long, D.V.M.

I am a native north Floridian from a rural community in Live Oak. My family there owns and operates a multi-generational cattle and tobacco farm. Having grown up on a farm, animals have always been in my blood. In my youth I cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, pigs, cows, goats, horses and even wild fox and raccoons. Having grown up in such an animal rich environment it was only natural to dedicate my life to their care and well-being.

After graduation from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996, I spent 3 years in an exclusive dairy practice serving northern and central Florida. In 2000, I purchased Tomoka Pines Veterinary Hospital where I have been serving our clients, patients and community ever since. My special interests include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, ultrasound and radiology. I have been active locally in the Volusia County Veterinary Medical Association where I served as president for 6 years. I continue to attend state and national conferences to expand my knowledge in current medicine and surgery. I strive to focus on preventative care and senior pet wellness.

I have two wonderful children, both of whom love animals. Our animal family has included multiple dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, hamsters and fish. I enjoy time with my children foremost. In addition I love the outdoors, including camping, hiking, fishing, archery and shooting sports. I love the Rocky Mountains, travel, cooking, wine, music and photography. When not at work, I may be hard to find!

Deidre Giltner, D.V.M.

From a young age, I knew that my life would be spent working with animals. I brought my first pets’ home from my agriculture teacher in middle school under the guise that we would just be “fostering” them, needless to say we had Boots and Abe the rest of their lives. As a sophomore in high school, I began my first job as a kennel assistant and have been involved in veterinary medicine ever since.

I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Central Florida and went on to attend the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. As a veterinarian, I enjoy dentistry, preventative medicine and being a part of the human-animal bond. I have a soft spot for Chihuahuas and share my home with two, Killian and Gracie. The Chihuahuas enjoy bossing around their brother, Smitty, the exuberant German Shorthaired Pointer. Not to be forgotten is Dexter, my sweet geriatric cat.

Outside of the office I keep busy with DIY home projects, exercising Smitty, and outdoor adventures (hiking, biking, kayaking, etc).

Jenny Moreira, D.V.M

At a very young age, I knew that I wanted to become a veterinarian and not only care for pets but help to educate clients about their fur babies. I remember as a young girl receiving my first veterinarian Barbie doll and hoping that I would grow up to be her. To this day, I keep that doll on my shelf as a reminder that my dreams can become a reality. My passion for animals kept growing as I started out as a kennel assistant and then moved on to become a technician.

I graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019 and started working in general practice and emergency medicine. My special interests include ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, radiology, and endoscopy.

I have a loving husband named Will, who I met in school and is also a veterinarian, and two fur children. Remy is my very playful Golden Retriever who loves swimming and rolling around in the sand at the beach. Ballerina is my domestic short haired cat who enjoys basking in the sun during her alone time and loves to eat. Family is very important to me and has helped shape me into the person I am today. In my free time, I enjoy doing arts and crafts, game nights, outdoor adventures, and spending time at the beach.

Sue, Practice Manager, C.V.T.

Originally from Virginia, I am a graduate of the Veterinary Technology Program at Blue Ridge Community College. Animals have been my passion since I was a young child and I am so fortunate to be in a profession that I really love, and am continually growing and challenged in.  I have been with Tomoka Pines Veterinary Hospital since 1981. There have been a lot of changes in medicine and technology since then, and Tomoka Pines has continued to grow and improve with the times. Over the years I’ve been fortunate to gain many lasting friendships with coworkers, clients and their companion animals. My animal family includes two cats.  When not at work I enjoy spending time with my family, my church, barn and at the beach.

Ashley, Human Resources Manager

I am a Florida native and have had a passion for animals since I could walk. As a teen, I competed in barrel racing and enjoyed training horses. Recently, I completed a veterinary assistant certification course through Animal Behavioral College and hope to continue my education and become a certified veterinary technician. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, from patient care to client education. I love the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. I am very happy to have joined the Tomoka Pines team!

Rachel, Lead Technician

I was 5 years old when I got my first pet, a big tabby cat named Sampson. It was my mission to always try to “fix” him, wrapping him up in an Ace bandage and giving him some pretend medicine, I always wanted to make sure he would stay healthy and happy. It was only natural I was drawn to veterinary medicine and when I began my career as a veterinary technician in 1996 making it my new mission to ensure everyone’s pets were healthy and happy. I have also bred and raised Ragdoll cats since 2000, most weekends you can find me at a cat show having fun with my show cats. I am very proud to be part of the team here at Tomoka Pines and look forward to helping your pets to be healthy and happy!

In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors, roller derby, and playing washboard. I travel most everywhere with “The Cal Dog,” my 17-year-old terrier mix. Jessica, Technician

I was born and raised in Queens, New York. Growing up, I was always told that I would be either a lawyer or a doctor. As life would have it, I am neither, however, I have found my calling in veterinary medicine. I have been in the veterinary field for 15 years and have loved every second of it! In my free time, you can find my husband and I on the softball field cheering on our two daughters, hanging by the pool with our two dogs Diesel and Niko, or watching a New York Yankees or a Miami Dolphins game.

Lillianna, Technician

I am a Florida native and have lived in Palm Coast my entire life. I have loved animals and have had a passion for working with them ever since I can remember and started working with them the second I was able. I completed my Veterinary Assistant Program in high school and went on to learn and become a technician shortly after. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending my time at the beach, with friends, reading, or going on long walks with my dog. My four-legged children consist of my rescue pit mix Lucille, my childhood dog, Bood, and my two cats Tiggs and Bebe. I am very grateful to be apart of the Tomoka Pines team and love caring for your pets!

Bridget, Technician

I was born and raised in Sunshine, Maryland where I grew up on horse farm. Horses were my first love and the start of my love for animals. In 2004 I moved to Ormond Beach where I have raised my daughter, Bella, with my husband Andrew. Our household includes two German Shepherds, ‘Ruger’ and ‘Vera’ and many cats!

Not only do I enjoy meeting our clients that walk into the hospital, but I also love the diversity of the animals that come in the door. I’ve been in veterinary medicine for 12 years and love what I do. Aside from working with animals, which is my true passion, I enjoy being outdoors and in the woods with my husband. We love mudding and being with our family and friends. I am excited to be part of the Tomoka Pines team and to care for your furry loved ones.

Kaitlyn, Technician

I was born and raised in Daytona Beach. I started in veterinary medicine in 2020 when I was 18, but I have grown up in the field because my mom is a veterinary technician as well! I am passionate about advocating for animals and being the voice they don’t have. I have three cats at home named Newman, Alice, and Wobbles. Wobbles has cerebellar hypoplasia which makes his name fitting. In my free time, I enjoy thrift shopping, hanging out with my friends, and going to the beach.

Molly, Receptionist

I was raised in Ormond Beach in a house always filled animals and their unconditional love. In 2012 I began my career in the veterinary field working as a veterinary technician. In 2015, my husband and I moved to Virginia where I continued my career until back here to Florida. Not long after we moved back, I felt the urge to start back in the field as a receptionist and love the new set of experiences it has brought me. My husband, son, and I share our home with a laid back Long Haired Weimaraner named Veda and an overly affectionate Golden Retriever named Cypher. In my free time I enjoy gardening and taking our boat out to the islands and the occasional fishing trip. I began my career in veterinary medicine as a technician in 2018 and have always found the work to be deeply fulfilling. I strive to bring empathy and ensure both clients and animals feel comfortable and well-cared for. I take pride in building meaningful relationships with both clients and animals.

Outside of my work in animal care, I indulge in all kinds of art and enjoy reading. I also have a love for baking and cake decorating, as well as a deep appreciation for nature. At home, I share my life with three cats and one ferret.
